Pink Promise for Education

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – More than 100 breast cancer survivors, co-survivors, those at risk and people interested in learning more about the disease gathered at the Indianapolis Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s Pink Promise Educational Symposium. This year’s theme was “Everything You Want to Know About Breast Cancer, But Are Afraid to Ask,” and we discussed many topics including young women and breast cancer, genetics, importance of early detection, clinical trials and integrative medicine. During the luncheon keynote address, I had the opportunity to share my story with guests, many of who had been directly affected by breast cancer. Informational booths about programs and services in Central Indiana as well as onsite screening digital mammograms on the new state-of-the-art St. Vincent Mobile Mammography Van were also available at the conference. It was definitely a jam-packed, fun-filled event! The annual symposium is free and open for all to attend. I hope you’ll join us next year!
